Often explanations of skiing can be complex when in fact the underlying mechanics and principles of skiing can be explained very simply. Your coach will break down the movements and provide skill drills. This will help to make you more aware of the movements required, enabling you to progress to that next step.
Tactics
Making small adaptations to movements will increase your enjoyment and confidence in skiing around the mountain. Boost your confidence by changing how you approach what lies ahead.
Your coach will develop all the tricks and tools and most importantly, when to use them.
Ski fit
High performance skiing can require a reasonable level of fitness. The team will coach you on how to use what you have to maximum effect, when to dig deep and when to take it easy. Managing your energy and arousal levels is a big part of skiing the mountain well, taking it easy or pulling out all the stops could make all the difference on that all-important run.
Don’t think - just ski
Paralysis by analysis and being psyched out can have a dramatic effect on your ski performance. U coaches can advise you on when to delve deep into the technical side of things, or switch off and let your natural instincts take over. Tackling physiological aspects can help to push you further, but sometimes a few reminders is all that is needed. |
